Este circuito es histórico y tiene muchos años. 3.860 metros de extensión tiene este autódromo ubicado en la ciudad de Lexington. Hubo muchas carreras de la CART/Champ Car en Mid-Ohio y desde el 2007 recibe a la IndyCar.
Scott Dixon, actual piloto del equipo Chip Ganassi Racing, es el piloto más ganador de carreras de la IndyCar en Mid-Ohio y cuenta con tres triunfos. Además, Dixon es el último ganador.
El circuito de Mid-Ohio es muy conocido por los fanáticos de la categoría porque en este circuito se realizó la primera prueba del actual auto de la categoría, el Dallara DW12.
